Frequently asked questions

Details

What does the cost of occupational health service consist of?
The cost covers the occupational health physician's consultation, the organisation of health checks, documentation, and employer advisory services. Small businesses are generally subject to a minimum monthly fee, because the physician's time is a fixed cost regardless of the number of employees. For an exact price, request a personalised quote.
Do I pay separately for each employee's health check?
Under a package-price service, periodic health checks are typically included for a set number of employees per year. The precise scope is set out in the contract. All statutory checks are the employer's obligation and cost. Employees pay nothing.
Does a company with 1-5 employees also need to purchase the service?
Yes. Under TTOS § 12, every employer is obliged to arrange the provision of occupational health services, regardless of the number of employees. In practice, this means concluding a contract with an occupational health service provider. Even a company with a single employee must arrange occupational health services.
When is a fine issued, and how large can it be?
A fine may be imposed when a Labour Inspectorate inspection identifies a breach - for example, there is no occupational health service contract, no risk assessment has been carried out, or employees have not attended their health checks. For breaching occupational health and safety requirements where this created a risk to an employee's health or life, the maximum fine for a legal person is up to €32,000 (TTOS § 27-1 to § 27-5 paragraph 2); for a natural person, employer, or their representative, up to 300 fine units. Each violation is counted separately.
